Confirmation will resume on Wed., September 7 with an orientation for parents and students.

For last year's ninth grade class, Confirmation Sunday is scheduled for September 28 at 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Getting ready for Summer? Have your lawn chairs packed in the trunk of the car?
Then you're ready for outside worship services. First English will have three outdoor worship services this season. On Sunday, July 6, to commermorate the 4th of July, there will be one service at 9 a.m. outside. On Sunday, August 31, Labor Day Weekend, there will be one worship service at 9 a.m.outside (weather and authorities permitting). Both worship services will be on site at church.

Then on Sunday, September 7, RALLY DAY, we will begin the fall worship schedule. The first service at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The 10:30 a.m. worship service will be held outside at Hannah's Bend Park with the congregational picnic following.

Then, at 12:30 p.m. we will leave from the park to go see the Church Basement Ladies:A Second Helping!

Sign-up on the bulletin board in the narthex leave a $15 deposit in the office to reserve your seat. Deposit will go toward ticket cost ($24-25 plus coach bus ride $?) Deadline for sign up & exact cost haven't been set yet.

Summer Schedule

A Sunday School registration and Parent Orientation for all students planning on attending 2008-2009 Sunday School will be held here at First English Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 6th at 6 p.m. Sunday School is open to all children who are at least 3 years-old by September 1st of 2008. (Pre-school through 6th grade) Six more teachers are still needed before Sunday School begins this fall on Rally Day, Sunday, September 7.

Donations for Sunday School supplies (check the people shapes hanging on the display) and gently used games, books, and toys are for the C.R.O.S.S. store are also needed. Please check the display in the narthex.

St. Paul Saints Night

Friday, August 8th—7 p.m.

Come along for a game at Midway stadium to watch the

St. Paul Saints vs. the Fort Worth Texas Cats.

We will leave by bus from First English at 5:15 p.m. The cost for a reserved ticket

(with a comfortable back) plus the bus ride is $15.
