Some years ago, I remember that a reporter asked the late comedian Flip Wilson about his faith.

“Oh, haven’t you heard?”, said Flip Wilson, “I’m a Jehovah’s Bystander.”

“A Jehovah’s Bystander?”, the reporter questioned, “I’ve never heard of a Jehovah’s Bystander.

What in the world is that?”

To which Flip Wilson replied, “Well, they asked me to be a witness,

but I didn’t want to get that involved.”

Lent calls us to deeper involvement and deeper involvement will lead to deeper faith.
