First English Lutheran Church is known for their thriving Confirmation program!
During the program year, approximately 40 children in grades 6 through 9 gather to learn about the Bible, the Church, and what God has to say. Confirmation classes start on Wednesday nights with a pizza supper from 6-6:30 pm followed by lessons from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Small group lessons are led by adult guides to help kids connect with materials and each other in ways that are relatable to them.

This Month's Update
May 7 will be our last day of confirmation programming and we’re planning to send it out with a bang! That night, starting at 6 pm, confirmands and their mentors are invited to a grill out. Please have your student and mentor bring something to cook! We will have grills and sides here. That night we will eat and celebrate everything your students have learned this year! So come ready for conversations and food. 

Middle Schoolers can also check out Good Earth Village programming for other fun camp opportunities this summer! Voyagers and Stargazer programs give kids the chance to explore nature with friends, walk in faith, and experience a different community for the week! Confirmation at FELC is scheduled for Sunday, May 25th this year! Ninth graders will be confirmed during worship, and join the congregation as formal members. In preparation for this, they will write faith statements and create posters for everyone to view during the reception after service.
