Hello First English Lutheran Church! 
I’m Maddie Patterson and this is my third year as your Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. I grew up and live on a hog farm in Kenyon, and completed my undergraduate at North Dakota State University. I have enjoyed volunteering with a church plant and in youth programs previously, and I look forward to using that experience here. In my free time I love to hang out with my family, run, and read. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with you all.

About Our Faith Formation Ministry 
 
The objective of this team is to plan and administer faith formation ministry to all ages, involve the youth of the congregation in the work of Christ, provide and nurture spiritual growth for all ages and promote genuine Christian fellowship for the youth. The committee will determine policies and recruit leaders and facilitators. The committee communicates and consults with the Pastor to direct and supervise the entire education program of the congregation.

 Faith Milestone Ministry
​Milestones Ministry provides a faith milestone as a marker along life’s journey that says, “This is something important, and God is here, too.” It is a faith formation practice for both home and congregation that helps all generations recognize God’s presence in everyday life.

The Faith Milestones include: 
Infant: Remembrance of Baptism
3 & 4 year-olds: Spark Story Bible 
Kindergarten: Lord's Prayer
1st grade: I Spy Kids in Worship
2nd grade: God's Kingdom 
3rd grade: Bibles (NIV Adventure Bible)
4th grade: Ten Commandments
5th grade & parents: First Communion, Maundy Thursday
10th grade: Affirmation of Baptism/Confirmation
11th Grade: Surprise Milestone
12th grade: Senior Recognition
