First English Lutheran Church is one of over 9,000 congregations of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
Our congregation consists of over 582 households. We are a church of young and old—and have members who are natives of Cannon Falls and those who have moved to this area. Our ministry reaches into our homes, where we work and play, throughout our community and beyond.
Our Mission Statement:
We, as Christians of First English Lutheran Church, dedicate ourselves to witness through God’s love and minister to the needs of others as Christ teaches us.
We invite you to join us in worship. We are excited about the many activities that take place in our church. We would like to acquaint you with some of them and to answer any questions you may have.
For information please contact the church office at 263-3042.
If you do not have a church home, we welcome you to join us in serving and praising our Lord here at First English Lutheran Church.

"As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace." 1 Peter 4:10
The First English Lutheran Church Foundation was established in 1982 by action of the First English Lutheran Church. Initial funding came from an estate gift which together with many other gifts enables our members to provide a living fund in order to carry out the programs of the church and to respond to the mission needs around us. The members of First English Lutheran Church thankfully receive these gifts of love and prayerfully continue their stewardship to the glory of God.
The Resolution establishing the Foundation specifies the purpose of the Foundation, its governing body, and their responsibilities. The purpose of the Foundation is to accept money, legacies, insurance, real estate, and other property from donors and make disbursements from the Foundation for any purpose that will further the Christian cause, except that disbursements shall not be made for regular operating and maintenance expenses of the Congregation or for benevolences that would ordinarily be considerd a continuing responsibility of the Congregation.
Planned giving enable a donor to arrange charitable contributions in a manner that maximizes his or her personal benefits, while minimizing the after-tax cost. Despite the substantial financial and tax benefits of planned giving, our experience tells us that the greatest donor benefit is the satisfaction of creating a gift that will strengthen our Church's ability to further the work of Christ.
For more information on the Foundation contact the church office at 507-263-3042 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
