Happy 122nd Anniversary to FELC!
The history of First English Lutheran Church began on May 7, 1900, when a small group of Lutherans desiring services in the English language, voted to organize. (Prior to this, St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church was the only Lutheran church in Cannon Falls, and they worshipped using the Swedish language as late as 1927.)
On June 17, 1900, a constitution was adopted and the first pastor was Rev. M.E. Boulton.
On December 15, 1901, a committee was selected to find and solicit funding for a church building.
By May 7, 1905, a new church building was dedicated on our current site.

Our Mission Statement:
We, as Christians of First English Lutheran Church, dedicate ourselves to witness through God’s love and minister to the needs of others as Christ teaches us.
First English Lutheran Church is one of over 9,000 congregations of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).

Our congregation consists of over 582 households. We are a church of young and old—and have members who are natives of Cannon Falls and those who have moved to this area. Our ministry reaches into our homes, where we work and play, throughout our community and beyond.

We invite you to join us in worship. We are excited about the many activities that take place in our church. We would like to acquaint you with some of them and to answer any questions you may have.

For information please contact the church office at 507-263-3042.

If you do not have a church home, we welcome you to join us in serving and praising our Lord here at First English Lutheran Church.

Foundation Board
The First English Lutheran Church Foundation was established in 1982 by action of the First English Lutheran Church. Initial funding came from an estate gift which together with many other gifts enables our members to provide a living fund in order to carry out the programs of the church and to respond to the mission needs around us. The members of First English Lutheran Church thankfully receive these gifts of love and prayerfully continue their stewardship to the glory of God.

For more information on the Foundation, click here or contact the church office at 507-263-3042 or e-mail firstenglishchurchcf@gmail.com.
